The Roger Léron Award celebrates outstanding contributions to the development of sustainable energy at the EU, local and regional level. The Prize established in 2014 by FEDARENE, is named in memory of Roger Léron, a pioneer of regional energy development in Europe and one of FEDARENE’s founders. The aim is to acknowledge the creativity, motivation, leadership and strategic vision within the wide field of sustainable energy on a local and regional level in Europe.
2019 already marks the 5th anniversary of the Roger Léron Award. For the occasion, this year, a new focus was set on creativity, in order to highlight innovative actions, new ideas, breakthrough approaches, but also creative ways to overcome challenging barriers.
The Roger Léron Award jury has selected 3 finalists among the 13 oustanding individuals that have been nominated to the Award: Maria Heras Celemín (Spain), Soren Hermansen (Denmark) and Josep Puig I Boix (Spain). Discover their biographies here.
